Short summary: Saif Gadaffi seemed like a jolly decent bloke when I met him for cocktails at the London School Of Economics and he's only a murdering psychopath out of misplaced loyalty to his dad. Next week is how Hermann Goering was a moderating influence on Hitler and Pol Pot's radical green vision for Cambodia.

Poll: Saif Gadaffi, future democratic leader of Libya?

And therefore we have cut everything to bone like libraries, education, the police and social security.  Yet, we're able to pay for yet another military adventure in the muslim world. We were doing juicy oil deals with Gadaffi until about a couple months and we knew he was a bastard so what's changed?

Poll: will Libya enjoy the same level of fredemocracy that we've lovingly bestowed on the Iraqi and Afghan people?

My gf of five months is pregnant and she's going to keep the baby. It's definitely mine. Gulp as I haven't got a very well paid or secure job nor my flat in Chiswick any more due to the recession. At least I'm definitely not firing blanks.

Poll: what should I do?

The last Labour govt liked living beyond its means and channelling pork to its Scottish constituencies. So it ordered two huge aircraft carriers (2/3's size of a USN Nimitz carrier) to be built mainly in Scottish shipyards at a cost of £5bn. They wouldn't be built with catapults as they were non-nuclear so couldn't generate steam for the catapults. It was planned to use Harriers on them initially and then the hugely expensive VSTOL version of F-35 Lightning II when that became available.

However the money has run out so we have a problem...

Poll: whoever signed the contract on these need to be...

Only 50 years after the yanks did it back in 1960, we finally have the three major party leaders on the same stage on TV. Of course you are voting for your MP who represents a party in the UK rather than directly electing the Prime Minister. And if you live outside the 100 marginal constituencies that decide the election, your vote is pretty worthless.

Dating crap inside too...

Poll: will you watch it?

It's essentially the same job as I was doing with the banks sitting with the traders doing RAD development. So I think you know which govt department it is if I mention Public Sector Borrowing Requirement (a hint at what I'm doing) and what Gordon Brown used to do before he was PM. Money is the same as the banks. I'm very excited and pleased especially as I haven't had a contract since Jan. Start tomorrow :)

Poll: ever work for the govt?

The major British banks apart from HSBC looking extremely shakey. My prototype exposure system pressed into service to monitor Royal Bank Of Scotland trades. RBS looks in total  shit, no more trading with them boys. The pound's sinking like a stone. As Dulltrev say we're all doomed...

On Saturday morning went along to this Allen Carr clinic thing in south west London along with my mate, meejaman at the beeb, and his gf. Thanks to a combination of five hours brainwashing and hypnosis, I've gone from 30-40 a day to nowt. Still got the withdrawal symptoms but an equally strong desire not to smoke.

Poll: good idea to give up?

Just had the wierdest interview ever today with a consultancy that I've never heard of for a contract job with one of the major investment banks. The first part of the interview was pretty standard but then it got bloody strange...
